Good morning! Have a cup of coffee, sit a spell, relax a little, and greet the day. And reflect a little on what this day really is…because it’s 9/11. Patriot Day. Twenty-five years ago today, the forces of evil tried to bring us to our knees and stagger the foundations of liberty. What they succeeded in doing was giving us a new battle cry, right along with “Remember the Alamo!”, “Remember the Maine!”, and “Re-member Pearl Harbor!” And now a whole new generation has come, and there are people getting their master’s degrees, entering the business world, joining the military, and getting ready to run our country, who weren’t even born when the planes hit the towers. Of course they’ve been exposed to the knowledge of it over the course of their lives, but has it really sunk in? Is it ingrained in their hearts and minds that this is another example of an attack on the principles of liberty that must not go unchallenged and unpunished, or we might risk the actual loss of that liberty some day? It needs to sink in. It needs to be ingrained. So “Remember 9/11!” And remember to pass the meaning of it along to your children and grandchildren, so that they keep the spirit of liberty alive in their souls, and in our country.
